The TUIE members presented their export potential to the Romanian business community
On September 8, an online meeting was held between the management and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Romanian Prahova region (district). Representatives of a number of ministries and departments, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, as well as specialists from large companies of the two countries were invited to participate in it.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Romania Annamammet Annayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of our country Dovletgeldi Rejepov and Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Prahova region Aurelian Gogulescu addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Structural similarities were noted between the economies of our country and the large Romanian region, in which the oil refining and petrochemical sectors and the agro-industrial complex play a significant role.
Proposals for the supply of products of Turkmen industrial enterprises, textiles, and carpets to Romania were considered.
The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs presented the export potential of its members. In particular, specialists from private companies “Mono Logistics” and “Akylly Tilsimat” spoke about the opportunities in the transport and logistics sector and in the field of IT technologies.
In turn, a number of large Romanian companies presented their economic and export potential in the oil and gas sector, in the field, engineering, and supply of wine products.
Summing up the results of the meeting, representatives of the Romanian side, stressing their interest in an active dialogue with Turkmenistan in order to build up mutually beneficial partnership, invited their Turkmen colleagues, after lifting the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, to visit Romania and take part in a joint business forum.
