Turkmenistan has been granted status of observer in the WTO
On 22nd July at the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva in the course of a regular session of the General Council the decision was unanimously accepted relatively award of observer status to Turkmenistan in WTO.
Achieving status by our country is designed to facilitate the dynamic development of the national economy, to strengthen positions in external trade, to realize multilateral cooperation, to attract investments from abroad and to develop international trade relations. It is also referred to the development of commercial and trade strategies including their successful implementation.
Currently, 164 states are WTO members. 24 countries have observer status in this organization. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan informed that Turkmenistan became 25th country in the status of observer.
