TUIE – participant of the Turkmen-Romanian online meeting on issues of using of opportunities of the Caspian Sea – Black Sea international transport corridor

Online meeting was held with the Romanian side on activation of the Caspian Sea – Black Sea international transport corridor.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkmendenizderyayollary, Turkmendemiryollary, Turkmenawtoulaglary Agencies, International Turkmenbashy Port took part in the meeting.

The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan was represented by a member of the board, Turkmen logistic association and ES "At abray".

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Construction, as well as Sea Port Administration and Entrepreneurs Association of Constanta city participated in an online meeting from the Romanian side.

In the course of negotiations, there was exchange of views on cooperation in the transport-transit area and maximum use of mutual opportunities of the Caspian Sea – Black Sea international transport corridor. Parties paid special attention to issue of price formation in the field of cargo carriage, customs duties, trade concessions and other issues.

Possibilities to develop container carriages by this corridor through the strengthening cooperation between ports and logistics partners of the private sector, commercial proposals regarding it were discussed too.

In particular, the parties considered the potential of the port of Constanta, i.e. the lease and use of its cargo terminal. At the same time, the great potential of the private sector of both countries was emphasized.
