OSCE webinar participants are discussing the use of digital technologies in the fight against corruption

Representatives of the IT technology department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan are taking part in a three-day online seminar organized by the OSCE Center in Ashgabat with the aim of exchanging the best practices of the member states of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe.

The representatives of the law enforcement agencies, Mejlis, financial institutions, and other competent departments of our country are participating in the event.

International experts informed about the potential and range of use of information technology (IT) in the fight against corruption laid particular stress on transparency, accountability, preventive detection and ethical behavior.

“Since the sophisticated methods and modern technologies are increasingly used in criminal activities, including corruption, it is extremely important to actively use digital tools aimed at enhancing the transparency of the activities of state institutions and ensuring the efficient exchange of information between relevant structures, as well as studying and tracing connections in a criminal chain” said Natalya Drozd, head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat.

Seminar participants discussed the specifics of using information technologies in anti-corruption activity and the role of IT in the realization of anti-corruption strategies.

In the course of the event, the tactics of investigation and “digital traces” of corruption cases are also being considered. In addition, participants are discussing the benefits of artificial intelligence as one of the most effective tools for preventing corruption.
