A project launched to develop entrepreneurship and business environment in Turkmenistan

On February 11, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) officially launched a project to develop entrepreneurship and the business environment in Turkmenistan, a press release from the US Embassy in Ashgabat said.

The implementation of this project provides for the support of Turkmen enterprises in creating new jobs, improving the competence of employees, increasing sales and export volumes in target sectors of the economy, including information and communication technologies, food processing, carpet weaving, manufacturing of leather products and handicrafts.

On this occasion, a round table was organized, in which 30 representatives of companies and organizations took part.

During the event, approaches and project implementation methods were discussed, providing for the use of innovative solutions to attract investment and ensure sales growth and export volumes in target sectors of the economy. The subject of discussion was also issues of staff development and competence, which will be addressed through training organized by USAID for women and youth.

As noted, USAID advocates the entry of Turkmen entrepreneurs into rapidly growing markets, creating an enabling environment for business development and investment companies in order to ensure their development and sustainability.
